Self titled is a weird one for me. I like all the songs individually, but it’s just got such a bleak and despondent vibe across the whole record that makes it just exhausting to listen to. Bloody Cape is fucking badass tho and Battle Axe has that unforgettable intro. It’s a great record for sure but yeah just not really what I listen to the band for.
I like the melodrama on all their records don’t get me wrong, but the self titled moves beyond melodrama and into “im going to fucking kill myself” territory. If I’m having a terrible day I’ll jam it but I try to steer clear of music that will make me even more depressed lol
I’d say Gore and Diamond Eyes are pretty interchangeable too. It’s interesting, Diamond Eyes was my absolute favorite at one point, and I would’ve had Gore a lot lower closer to release too. I’ve grown to like one a lot more and the other a lot less
