It's a hard 3.5-4 for me. It does lack a bit in those spine-tingling / memorable moments, but makes up for the music being strong throughout. There's always something interesting going on, and it gets better with repeat listens.

I don't need some big, endorphin inducing moment. I think they are here, they're just not as in your face as previous albums. I think it has to do with Maynard taking a more nuanced approach to his vocals. Everything about this album is incredible solid. I suspect it will only continue to grow on me, as all Tool albums have over the years.

Already the 30th where I'm at, so it's off to the record store this morning, only to download the digital album for my first listen tonight haha. My expectations are mild.
I absolutely love that sound off that says that Tool haters are more annoying than Tool fans now. There's a sentence I never thought I'd hear.

Tool fans can be cringey and hyperbolic but they aren’t really hurting anyone. Tool haters have to out of their way to let people know that Tool sucks
