no I suck horribly at piano, though. I have absolutely no will to practice, and I just end up playing old songs that I love, barely progressing as the weeks go by. I was probably a better pianist as a high school freshman than I am now, it's so bad.

oh yea that sounds like me, it was only a couple months ago i realized i actually want to get better at playing piano. there are so many nice pieces i can't play because my technique is shit
@lakes lol stereotypical indeed, tho to be fair my end game career-wise isn't programming at all but rather running business operations in a company that runs within tech

I play marimba. The hardest shit I could play is this

instead of fingers, I use hands!

the cool thing about the marimba/xylophone (I suck at band instruments) is that it's organized very
much like a piano is. I got my friend's instrument and just started playing pokemon theme like I would
on the piano but with no chords.

Oh yeah, it's difficult. Especially when you get into 4 mallet stuff and traditional grip on snare. For both, blisters form and eventually turn into calluses. You may even bleed all over the mallets/sticks if you practice enough.
And yeah, keyboard percussion instruments and pianos are inter-changeable in regards to the way the keys are set up. Flats/sharps (in relation to the particular key a song is in) are on top (black keys) and naturals are on bottom (white keys). We can only play 4 note chords, though. Unless you get into 6 mallets, but that's highly advance stuff which I'll probably learn in uni.

All the pieces I have heard on a vibraphone are so fluid sounding; I love it. It's pretty cool to watch someone play one of those.

I've been playing for 6 years now. Gonna major in music performance on jazz drumset.
I just looked up my favorite percussion ensemble to play and found a good video of it.

I played the vibraphone part (middle keyboard on the vid)
