This band has one of my top 3 albums ever in TDAG; the others I have to think hard about. Possibly Brother, Sister and Kid A but again I'd have to scour my 5's.

late august, ah that means it's almost time to start jamming this on the daily again...I always crave this thing in the fall

Same. For me Daisy and SF both scratch that autumn itch, Deja is summer, YFW spring for whatever reason (might just be because that's when I discovered it) and TDAG is a winter album through and through.

most of their discog feels like autumn to me, but Daisy feels more like summer to me (summer nights, specifically)

This is their 4th best album, too spotty and incohesive. Still good though.
Deja and YFW are both summery as hell (every pop punk album is a summer album), Daisy is pretty much any time as long as its dark out and you're near trees, and TDAG is definitely fall.

"Daisy is pretty much any time as long as its dark out are you're near trees, and TDAG is definitely fall. "
yeah this sounds about right to me. And tbh, TDAG feeling like fall probably has something to do with the album art which looks straight up like october.

I've always went with: TDAG winter, Daisy spring, Deja summer, and SciFi fall.

I don't come back to this often but man those last 2 songs were a great way to cap it all off

Batter Up is fucking gorgeous but I still can’t get over just how insanely beautiful Desert is.
Especially considering the lyrical content.
|

Also agree. Desert is a top tier SF song.

Batter Up is boring

The Lonesome Crowded West and A Black Mile to the Surface are up there too as far as favorite albums. But again, not sure they’d make top 3. Mellon Collie and Siamese Dream. Superunknown, Dirt. The Downward Spiral. All serious contenders.

This and TDAG are so close that I’m not sure I can pick a favorite between the two. I guess this is my favorite more days than TDAG but it’s so close.

Batter Up is good. Desert is probably my least favorite song on this lol.

Desert is awesome, outside of their comfort zone but they pull it off
