What is wrong with this record? Pretty much everything.



The vocals are down right awful. Hetfield has not been able to sing since 1993. At least live 1994-1995 before Load he put some effort pushing his vocal chords.



Drumming sucks. Lars was never the best in thrash but he's fallen so far. The snare actually makes the record interesting even though the drumming is shit.



No guitar solos. I don't think that would matter though because Kirk sucks now.



Songs are way too long. The title track and Some Kind of Monster are perfect examples.



Very few memorable riffs... My World, St. Anger, and Dirty Window are the only decent riffs. They are also the 3 best songs on the album.



Invisible Kid and Purify is some of the biggest shit Metallica has ever written.
