Going back to this, I enjoy the first half of the album very much. However, it seems like their riffs are hit and miss. They like to just play what they want instead of making it as enjoyable as possible, but some times they just get it right. It is hard to take them seriously with the screaming and the horrible structure, unfortunately.

When they do their hard hitting, lifeless verses do people actually enjoy it? I'm genuinely curious here, because no matter how much I listen, I just don't understand how you can like random notes being played at hyper speed for a minute straight. The rest is brilliant though.

Frank, I'm saying a lot of their verses are boring because they are often unmusical and unpleasing. I guess it is a deathcore or harcore thing, but a lot of the time they put in no effort to play actual scales or play a riff that is pleasing (although they do fit in a good riff here and there).
It is a huge contrast to pretty much all metalcore I've listened to where there is at least SOME melody in the guitar work. BTBAM seems to leave behind the melody in their verses and only visit melody in their occasional breaks to real, inspiring riffs or slow parts. It doesn't flow, and sounds terrible.
It seems as if no one mentions it and just brags about how amazing the REST of the music is. I guess we agree on this particular rating though.

Listen to 5 hardcore bands. I recommend looking up bands like Verse, Dropdead, one life crew, cro-mags, and minor threat.
Listen to 5 deathcore bands. I don't give a shit who they are. Just look up on youtube "Top Deathcore Bands" and just click on anyone of them. It doesn't matter which one, they all sound the same.
