when i first heard this i thought the vocals on the rip i got were too low but it all makes sense now

I absolutely hated the vocals until it all clicked into place after a fair few listens.



There is a lot of potential within the genre, I just don't know when we will see it. Isis definitely brought post-metal into the spotlight. They also knew that the genre started becoming oversaturated and it was a good time to pull out. I think we won't see any new ground breaking bands until this current wave of throw-away post-metal realizes it has no backbone and reinvents the formula. (Combining black metal doesn't count)



In the meantime we can all keep our fingers crossed for the next Neurosis and CoL albums.
