I'm sorry folks, dont want to sound bitter here. I think it's awesome people still care about music, and are always finding something new to enjoy; that's great. My only point was as far as rock/metal goes it just ain't up to snuff for me. I always look at the newer, but always go back to the older. It was a lot easier for me to find something I liked within that realm of the genre way back when and now I feel like I'm digging crates sometimes. Don't get me wrong, I'm not just tying to find a style to mimick shit I love.. I just want to be wowed a few more times, lacks that certain staying power. I'm always looking always searchin, always good music somewhere for someone. And yes there is good/great music nowadays just less of it for me that's all I was getting at.

Nevertheless, I'd love to be 18 years old in 1967 and watch some history being made first hand.

LA in the 80s would've been fucking awful.

jeff, the entire dreampop/chillwave thing blossomed in the late 2000s. if you're into that genre, i mean, https://vansire.bandcamp.com/album/reflections-and-reveries you dont have this in the 70s. maybe beach boys a little bit, but there's so much now

Man, I hate sayin' that though Titan y'know? I really do. I don't want discourage anyone from loving stuff nowadays while they have an old peckherhead tell em' what's better or worse. I'm just an asshole who loves music and loves playing, still do. It's cool to share opinions about it regardless of era and personal taste. We're all music lovers at the end of the day.. hold on to this joint real quick it's making me tear up something vicious! On a side note, Titan this album.. 2000 Maiden? Who would've thought..killer

and i agree with you Jeff, I hope the younger generation enjoys the newer music the same way i enjoyed what i like growing up.....it's a win win if so.....my father never got in to Guns N Roses, Motley Crue, or Alice In Chains but i enjoyed the shit out of his music and couldn't understand how he didn't care for it......there is that time period of ones life where their brains are like sponges for what they are hearing, and i believe it's the teenage years
i break balls around here with folks who like certain types of music.....but don't think for a minute that I don't understand how or why they like what they like.....i bust the balls in good fun, always.....many don't realize that though haha

The riffs are great, the songwriting is even better but nothing can replace the emotional bond you create with a band/album as a young impressionable man. This doesn't mean that there isn't awesome music these days but music is so much more than notes and lyrics and the older you get the harder it is to create that emotional bond with an album.

"the older you get the harder it is to create that emotional bond with an album."
i think i disagree there. sure nostalgiac music when you were a kid is cool, but discovering new music that has meaning to me is so much easier now that i'm older. and it just sits, and simmers, and grows, and preys on my emotions

i dont think it's harder when you're older, i just think people in general are less welcoming once they hit a certain period in life.....life starts to take over and you don't always have the time you once did as well.......of course the connection will be there if the emotion is present, regardless of age

when bruce does those cheesy obvious choruses (nooomaaaddd, aaalexander the greeat) sort of detracts from the great music, part of the charm i suppose
