It has its strong points I'm more of a death magnetic guy myself but I could see were some ppl are coming from thinking that. Robs bass is deff more front and center than it ever was I'm happy they finally let Rob shine more

I like the desert rock / psychedelic doom influences that kind of weave throughout this album. That’s what pushes it ahead for me.

I'm surprised to see the support for Load. It has some good songs on it, but overall, it's bottom 3 Metallica. DM, H, and this are all superior to it in my opinion. Admittedly, the bands image at the time really bothered me - reverse nostalgia if you will.
But listening to this and comparing it to Load, quality wise, is just stunning to me. The Outlaw Torn aside of course, because it's easily the best song on that record.

Bleeding me and until it sleeps are great. That record grew on me a lot over the years it's a legit good hard rock record with some blues and metal undertones. Ain't my bitch, outlaw torn, house that jack built, bleeding, until it sleeps, king nothing. Id prob put that on before hardwired or this myself. The avg rating on load is low but then you go in the comment section and there's like 15-20 of the usual suspects I see on this site that have it 4'd. Alot of ppl dig that record it seems. But there's obviously a larger amount of folks that hate it pretty divisive

The black album was pretty much my intro to heavier music after hair metal and FNM. Then I quickly progressed into the Panteras and Sepulturas and then black metal. So you can imagine my disappointment when my first love come out with hair cut, logo changed and long bluesy hard rock songs. I listened to it then went back to Fear Factory. But it’s a bit like the X Factor that also came out at that time. I had both cds so I sort of had to listen to them and over time came to like them. Now I think Load is an excellent hard rock album that I discuss with my non-metal mates. And can put on any song now and enjoy

Crazy how that happens years later a album will click with you
sometimes a decade later. It is really is yeah a good one muzz. You can hear the load influences on here pretty hard at times to.

Yeah you can hear Load on this and it’s a grower like Load. I remember seeing the video for Until it Sleeps and thinking what is this. And then the cigars and makeup and logo change and was hating it to begin with

Unfortunately, Load actually grew off me over time. It used to be a guilty pleasure of mine when I was younger, but these days, the repetition and length make it a chore for me to finish. Then again, I think Load and ReLoad are better as grab bags than as full experiences, and I've always preferred listening to records in their entirety

Load never grew on me. I've combined the songs I liked off both albums and renamed it Load(s) and superimposed the covers.
Ain't My Bitch
Until It Sleeps
King Nothing
Hero of The Day
Cure
Thorn Within
Fuel
The Memory Remains
Devil's Dance
The Unforgiven II
...and The Memory Remains fades out and ends at the 3:57 mark before that croaking at the end that totally ruins the song. I cut it out completely.

I have a Load/Reload conjoined playlist that I actually prefer to The Black Album. It's frustrating that those albums have such high highpoints intermixed with godawful lows.

I used to work with a dude who was obsessed with The Memory Remains for some reason and not only would he play it all the time he would sing along to it. I managed to leave that place without shooting anyone somehow
