I wont be listening to any of the deluxe edition versions again, but it was definitely an interesting 1 time listen. I am so happy they chose to do The West Hills the way they did.

As an exmormon, West Hills III was a neat surprise. It's a choral version reworked to the melody of the Mormon hymn "If You Could Hie to Kolob." I've always loved that hymn even if I don't believe the teachings behind it or the Mormon church in general anymore.



I don't see that one landing for people outside of Mormonism very well, though.



Agree on Getting By II and III being pretty great too. The original still definitely works best as a closer.

Wow I'm so glad they chose the versions they did for the album

None of the alternate Getting By's come even close to matching the breathtaking beauty of the LP's original version, and the other West Hills are kind of awful haha.

The only one I'd even consider swapping out is Runaway Horses, but that's only because that's a fairly boring track to begin with.
