"i just ain't heard much buzz on his new albums."
that is not what we were talking about
|
| |
>thats also just a function of the shrinking userbase

maybe it's just that those i'm friends with or follow aren't THAT deep into the scene so i often am out of the loop. like i said, my hip-hop buds are primarily east coast fans so i guess that makes sense that they'd never mention E-40.
maybe i am a hypocrite because i often get hyped for stuff people here says is irrelevant yet the bands still get good play-rates on streaming and whatnot. i mean people call Bullet irrelevant when they average 3.7 million on Spotify, people say ETF is irrelevant despite nearly 2 million still, and it does kinda reflect itself in the lower ratings.
so y'know what, i'm wrong. maybe E-40 has a lot more influence than I thought. it's just weird how I've got friends hardcore into hip-hop and helping me branch out yet today's the first I heard of him.

I think what we learned from all this is that Sput was the real irrelevancy all along

do i even bother going through this or can i just come in here to say, you're all fucking stupid and screaming at brick walls, just like go outside or take a bath or something jesus christ. and this is all coming from me, that should be a red flag in itself if i'm having to be the one check you guys lmfao

i think when people call something irrelevant thats less a statement of "no one in the world cares anymore as a matter of fact" and more a statement of "i can't imagine why anyone would care / i think people shouldn't care / etc"
then again... obviously people's environment and biases do tint how they perceive this shit as we just saw

yeah sorry that's my bad, when i perceive i'm being misunderstood i tend to over-explain everything till i get my point across, which never works but i still do it anyway because the idea of getting slandered over an opinion grinds my gears

i'm not saying you or whoever's in the wrong here, because i honestly don't care nor have time to read this whole thread, but my point is that this conversation clearly hasn't gone anywhere since it started snowballing a couple days ago and you guys should drop it because it's toxic as hell no matter who's right or wrong. take that shit to pm's or something if you really wanna talk about it that vehemently lol it aint that hard

feels like there's a huge intellect discrepancy that goes into music being relevant and irrelevant
like you go to a major US college campus, are you really gonna be surprised that the ratio of falling in reverse listeners and alex g listeners is 1:1?

i liked this thread
