Dude, 555 is awesome. That is by far the one that grew on me the most. I HAAATED it the first time I heard it. Then I watched the video and started to fall in love with it.

It's all about the lyrics on 555 for me. Love the music too, but it's secondary. With "Love Never" I barely ever listened to the single version when it was released, so by the time this version came out, it was practically a brand new song to me.

I always much preferred the moodier side of this band.
There is a clear divide with people as to which they prefer. It usually centres around which songs off Bleed they like.
Futures came out when I was in my early teens so that's where I jumped in and went back from there as it was when Limewire was still around.
This is a weird one, Sowing suggests that it takes its own path which is true. But this is still quite a polished record, akin to Chase This Light in it's massive, clean production.
I guess I'm here waiting for another Stay On My Side EP. That shit is gold.

I'm in the Futures/IB moody camp but this has some downright phenomenal songwriting across the board. A very crisp, straightforward, fun record.

555 is great. Just got back from seeing them live in Harrisburg, it's pretty awesome live too. Jim really kills it with the vocals

Seriously one of their best albums.

Don’t get the hype for this. It’s just so middling. Integrity Blues I really felt was a great late-career revival but they couldn’t do it twice in a row

yeah as the dust has settled this is bottom three jimmy :/
its kinda just mostly serviceable slightly above average pop rock with one really really bad song in the middle, and the best song here came out over a year ago. congratulations is pretty tight tho

Above average pop rock is similar to how I'm feeling. I like the album quite a bit and really like most of the songs but it doesn't come together as a whole like IB does.

See, I actually prefer this to IB. Find that one slightly overrated, though still good.

I think if One Mil, Criminal Energy and Surviving were as richly produced as Delivery, Congratulations and Recommit I might like this a bit more.

Feels a little undercooked at times I guess for me. Could do with an extra guitar part fleshing out the chorus in One Mil, like how All the Way really blossoms in the chorus.

This is the most melodically brilliant pop/rock album I've heard in a long while. I can't say I understand Onion's 3 when he has Hello Exile 4.5'd. I love that record too but I could defintely understand someone calling that record middling over this.

I wonder what is the really really bad song in the middle? And I don't understand how the best song could be Love Never... that's clearly the worst song for me.
This feels like a good collection of Jimmy B-sides for me. Which isn't necessarily to knock it as they have some great B-sides. But it doesn't feel like an "album" to me. I don't feel like I go on a journey with it, nor do I get drawn into a particular mood.
The quality of the songs may be on par, but Surviving winds up as less than the sum of its parts, where IB was more.

Lyrics is a strange one. I like Hello Exile but I agree with the Pitchfork review that the lyrics are mostly just tired references to growing up. Some great lyrics on Surviving. Not the band's best but still great. I can see thinking 555 is a really bad song. I like it now but it's far from my favourite. It has some great lyrics though.
