Woah lets not take my opening line out of context please. I specifically structured it as the way I'VE always seen the genre, based on my previous experiences both on record and live. That does not in any way, shape or form means I mean to say that it IS so, or that I even think my viewpoint on it is the right one. It gave me an opening to start talking about why I think Mariner stood out (the female vocals) and it felt like a natural starting point for the review.

throughout this year i've rarely felt catharsis as intense as some of the harder hitting moments on this album. feels like im caught in the middle of a dense rainstorm.

gonna need to listen in a not half-awake 3 AM setting but i absolutely love the vocals.

The whole concept of the day 'changing' whilst I'm still awake is disconcerting, I find that going to bed before midnight avoids such frustrations and inevitable confusion/uneasiness.

Went through it again. It's well executed, but kinda through the motions. And I know it's not, but it sounds like Travis Barker on the drums, but not in a good way. I like it, don't get me wrong. It's just not resonating with me like it is for other people.
