Finally decided to check this because people are still talking about it. This album simultaneously has beautiful moments and down right ear grating moments and she has this perceived attitude that at points seems so try hard and edgy. Still, there are some really good tracks (mostly the back half). Idk, if I want this kind of music, I’ll just stick to Clairo, it’s less tryhard than this.

Eh in the fact that they’re both young and play a stripped back pop sound I think it’s a fine if not perfect comparison. Clairo definitely leans more into indie pop where this is more trap focused, but their target demographics have a lot of overlap. That’s just what came to mind for me anyway

I dunno, it’s “pretty good”. Part of me suspects Billie won’t have longevity despite her talent. Just a hunch, I’m probably wrong.
She seems very “of the moment” and fleeting.
