This may seem sacrilegious but I’ve mentioned before that the run from Heavily Lined to Ultraglass is not quite as good as the rest of the record. I mean you just have fucking banger after banger for the first half and then some, then there’s these three great tracks that just aren’t quite as good… so I made an alternate track list and I think it flows fucking perfectly. Lyrically it will veer a little bit from what most of the tracklist is doing but I just like these songs more and ordered them so it’d flow, idk give it a shot if ya want, it’s gonna be my preferred way of listening to this record from now on I think.

I feel like it also gives Cara a few more moments to shine, that’s one thing I don’t like about Only Love, and it’s a small nitpick, but I’ve always felt like she was severely underused and she’s probably my favorite vocalist of their little rogues gallery. Record still comes in at a breezy 50 mins

I tried fitting in Night City Aliens in there somewhere because like I said I want more Cara but I couldn’t really make it work without it feeling kinda jarring.

I find the run from Heavily Lined to Ultraglass to be very interesting on a conceptual level because instead of banger after banger for a whole album, the band instead treats us to a surprise serving of banger after banger for a whole album. It's madness and I applaud them for even daring to attempt such a bait and switch.

Only song I’ve ever seen them play off this was role models but god damn it was transcendent

They dropped this, hit my city a couple of months later, and played literally nothing off it.
I’m very upset that it’s likely I’ll never see any of these songs live.

I’m being so serious when I say this is the best rock album of the last decade.
