Everyone that wants to listen should listen, it's a divisive album for sure.

I will say that if you're searching for riffs, you'll come up dry here. Their album before this is the kind of tech I generally approve of and I think it's an amazing release. But people have differed over this one so it's worth the try.

Wait actually what’s happening with JFaC

I fucking loved Sun Eater (listening to Sun of Nihility after only having heard Doom was memorably surreal) and I’m super stoked to hear what they do next

It's cool you can almost hear all of the amazing bass on the album. This record achieves moments of beauty and brutality. Progression resembling Tool and even Pink Floyd soundscapes. I like the jazzy inputs to. Not a huge fan of some electronic aspects here but kinda like those big machine guns coming right at you sometimes. Not expert enough to talk about the drums. Overall its a different and entertaining experience. I've read 10/10, 5/5, 3/5, 2/5 reviews so it looks like it's a controversial one.

yeh i think you either get it or you don't. i don't and i think it's whack but i guess it might depend on how much you prioritize tone and atmosphere. i prioritize riffs over those factors so this does absolutely nothing for me but people who don't care so much probably find it easier to like
