Wonder why these lads went with such a nondescript band name - I’m curious as to what it means, if anything? No wonder I wasn’t enticed into checking them as a youngster. Sounds boring af.

It doesn't matter, and it probably means nothing. I bet they just gave the band the first name that popped in their heads. They were never into such trivial pursuits.

The music is what matters most.

Just for your info:

The band took their name from the title of Aldous Huxley's book The Doors of Perception, itself derived from a line in William Blake's The Marriage of Heaven and Hell: "If the doors of perception were cleansed, everything would appear to man as it is: infinite".

The Doors is a great name if you know the meaning behind it, and it is short for The Doors of perception

Super duper classic album. Probably my favorite of theirs. My favorite song is Crawling King Snake though. Which I believe is a cover that I've never heard the original of

Right so it doesn’t matter and probably doesn’t mean anything, except you just discovered it does actually mean something. Cool.

Thanks for looking it up, honestly it was an idle thought. It wasn’t meant as a serious criticism.

yes, it's a book reference, it's not anything substantial, not a secret meaning or anything, hence, not of big importance

also, i didn't discovered it now, i discovered it through oliver stone's biographical film (some 10 years ago) lol

I was searching for it the other day. It's not easy to find it here in Greece.

F...... nice! A. Huxley was a true visionary genius.

Brave New World is an other great one.

Brain food.
