This rules along with eps imo but the next album is definitely a step down

the EPs don't have anything on the level of In Somnus Veritas, Dusk to Day, Sonder, etc. for me but they're solid in their own right

sonders never rlly done it for me the other two are solid. hard to tell if death of me is better bc it both has stronger high points and lamer low points
but yea nothin across either can touch like, wherever i may walk, in memoria di, deliverance, aspirations, regress, voiceless, l'appel du vide idk i rlly like those eps. they lost a lot of their character when they dumbed down all the instrumentation and started writing worse clean melodies that are only great on like a handful of songs. even jamies limiting his range on the lps dudes lows were one of the best parts of the eps

EPs are better agreed... I need more of Jamie's lows again
|

Album Rating: 4.5
to be honest i never paid enough attention to elements like lows when it comes to bands like this, it's always the melodies, atmosphere, and emotional pull which this delivers on a lot

steak I want you to be honest
is this genericore
I simply must know before I make a decision about whether I should listen to this or not
Because if it sounds like I the Mouthbreather or Of Lice and Men, I won't waste my time xD

If you wanna hear them at their best just listen to guilt and the grief and then decide if you wanna hear more depending on that

Could you please provide a comparison then

Album Rating: 4.5
maybe i'm not the right person to rec stuff but if you're into stuff that's melodic, progressive, and emotional at the right times this is a good record for that
|
| |
Album Rating: 2.0
I can name a handful bands that sound totally different to each other but still fit under the melodic, progressive, and emotional descriptors
|
| |
Album Rating: 3.0
You're right you aren't the right person to rec stuff like this
Pika idk I guess this is kinda more Architects meets kinda Underoath with a little bit of their Northlane progcore influence seeping in

@pika: drop some names my way tbh i'm a sucker for that shit and i wanna know if there's something i'm missing

Album Rating: 2.0

And I like early Architects
I don't like early Northlane

Album Rating: 3.0
Are you jamming this album pika? or the EP?
|
| |
Album Rating: 2.0
Okay, melodic progressive and emotional:
Be'lakor
Early Parkway Drive
Fall of Efrafa
Literally, three different bands, but I'd argue each one fits the criteria to a certain degree
