A Wereworm is exactly what it sounds like. Song is about being cursed to turn into a worm by moonlight, and subsequently being compelled to eat shit and corpse-brains. Next morning you wake up in bed like nothing happened, but you are covered in dirt.

You know, a wereworm.

It's more low key than a werewolf so I guess that's good

Impressive average given the number of ratings. This their best, or is that Ritual or Nocturnal?

Nocturnal is good, but I really don't see it as leaps and bounds better than anything else they've done. Unhallowed was an insane debut, Miasma is still fantastic, Nocturnal was great, but personally I think Ritual was the most interesting album they've done. Neither Everblack or Abysmal really stuck with me, but somehow I really connected with this one more than anything else they've done this past decade.

Ritual is tied for 3rd for me, Everblack is my least favorite though it has some great highlights and in no way means it's bad. These guys just push top level DM out like it's nothing

Imo nothing they do is very much better than the rest of their albums and that's ok. They remain a 3.7+ band in my book.

Yes definitely okay with that... compared to so many other bands that can't stay consistently great to save their lives. That also saves some bands too honestly... for people wanting them to make that one great album again

I have yet to go further than this or Nocturnal. One of these days I may have to dig a little deeper in their discog

'Impressive average given the number of ratings. This their best, or is that Ritual or Nocturnal?'

Nocturnal is their peak thus far (I haven't gotten around to all of them, perhaps never will), but definitely do not sleep on Unhallowed - it appears to have a unique atmosphere within their discog, whereas everything else I've heard (post-Nocturnal) just seems like a variation on the same theme. Miasma may scratch a similar-ish itch, but the song-writing isn't on par with Unhallowed.

This edges out Nocturnal by a lil bit for the #1 tbdm spot imo. I never thought they'd top Nocturnal in my books, but evidently I was wrong!

Nocturnal is by far their best release imo Ritual is really solid too. I think the things people specifically like about this album are the things I really don’t want from a tbdm album heh

looking like i just dont care much for the evolution of their sound since deflorate/ritual. think they pulled this sort of thing off best on abysmal; this and verminous ain't bad just don't do much for me
