No, if I didn't like the album, I'd hate it all the more for that attitude. You can think it's dumb, and criticise the hell out of it, but it's nevertheless one of the album's appeals to a lot of people. It's not hard at all to see how this album could be so polarising. Neither side is more right, it's just music.

it was never likely to dip below 3 tbh, it's only sputnik i've really noticed that doesn't seem to be hyping this, which is understandable, i'd say it's between 3 and 3.5 myself

Metacritic gave this album critical acclaim but the popular review in this site gives them a 3. I'm confused.

Well Metacritic doesn't "give" any album acclaim as it just aggregates other publications' scores. This review's 3.1 rating was incorporated into that very Metacritic score, so I don't see what the confusion is.

I know that the system of the site is to compile every review and depending how many good, average or bad review are that's make the general consensus of the album.

Have you read some of the reviews there? Some of the perfect reviews are very cringeworthy and there were several that seems to be praising him as a person rather than the album itself
