meh. Hawken is the only wanky prog metal I can stomach. Seems like every song on this has to break into a piano section. Makes me want to rip my hair out. I wish more prog metal bands would focus on being more original like Maudlin of the Well or Ne Obliviscaris. Instead the majority are just Dream Theater cover bands.

Its like watching a four year old play with lego. Except the lego is virtuostic musical skill.

Lion, there's a reason we don't have many bands as sonically unique as NeO or maudlin. There are actually a lot of acts who are that unique, just not a lot with the proficient membership or capacity to fully realise their visions. Good and original prog is hard to pull off.

Mars, I just like my prog a little more consistent is all. Core pulled it off pretty well, I'll concede. The band is just too haphazard on the whole for me to really enjoy their content. But that's just me.
