Yeah it almost sounds almost like late 80's metallica improvising for 80 minutes

Finally heard this and the first thing that I noticed was that either the guitars are way too quiet or the drums and vocals are way too loud.

Wasn't the outlaw torn ending cut in load because it was exceeding the full length of the CD?

4d this m fer. Can't believe how much of a grower it is - first I was at a strong 3/light 3.5, then a firm 3.5, now a 4. Even when the album dips in quality it's enjoyable.

That 4 may lower in the future, but for now, I'm really diggin' this.

Some of Now That Were Dead sounds like Kyuss' Demon Cleaner, which is awesome. A lot of riffs on this sound like stoner metal/rock riffs actually.

What if is a new direction that metallica will try in the next album. Metallica becomes a stoner metal band, FUCK YEAH

I feel sad for Robert, I mean I didn't listen manUNkind at all, but it is the only song he co-wrote and most of you agree that is one of the worst

This definitely has a lot more attitude than Death Magnetic.

Low 2...

The drums STILL sound like trashcans...i'm amazed that guy is still playing in a band with such a crappy sound, seriously. He's been worse and worse on every album since the black album.

Aside from the terrible drums...uninspired songs at best. Still going for the same sound as the Load era...even though every fan hated those albums.

Obviously nowhere near the first 3 albums...can't blame them since Lars and James weren't the ones that made those albums great and they never really understood what made them great, either.

Overall, this is vastly overrated so far, imo.

Yeah I really dig the riffing on Now That We're Dead. Definitely the best of the Load-sounding stuff on here.
