By 'prime neurosis songwriting' AGAIN I assume you are talking about stuff they wrote a decade ago. Very few bands go this long and stay relevant but also wrote the same shit they were writing when they were entirely different people.

im talking about making great albums. last one was terrible and this is decent imo. neurosis are to blame since they set the bar SO HIGH

I love Neurosis to death dude, and this album is no exception. Bending Light's intro is uninspired and bland for them.

So I was googling their age and I learned that Steve Von Till's sister is the "official" voice of Snow White. So, that's pretty weird.

I'm still looking for the interview where Scott Kelly said they were going to start writing again very soon, according to a poster here. Would make sense, though, because this is almost like an extended EP. I'd love them to do a single, long track at some point.

Surprised at the criticism of how Bending Light begins, didn't strike me as that bad but the ambient section is definitely the best part.



Looking back this is one of the better metal records this year. Band can do no wrong.
