we could argue endlessly about what the best song on this album is but I think all of us have a tiny little voice inside our heads whispering "God Only Knows is the greatest song ever made"

As long as it's an upward bump then it's a thing of beauty

I really don’t know where that 4 came from.

for me the track that holds it back from 5 is “I’m Waiting for the Day.” Give her some space, bro..
even that’s no lower than 3.5, everything else is 4.5 or 5
Sloop John B is such a silly song, but still so fun sing along to. HOIST UP THE JOHN B SAIL!!!

album is incredible. maybe "sloop John B" feels a bit 'formulaic' but is still great. can't say "god only knows" is my favorite even though it's totally singular and gorgeous: opener def my favorite cut all told--but Colton's onto something with "let's go away for awhile"

I will say “I Know There’s an Answer” is a little ironic, because George Wilson was definitely also a dirty hippie, and everything he sings about prob also applies to himself lol. But still it’s so good. Highway brass in the hook has me walking with a pep in my step.

I think people would like Sloop John B more if it had different lyrics. but yeah it's amazing how on an album where the vocals and harmonies are such a strong point, an instrumental manages to be the highlight

@noler exactly, that brass makes the chorus

@SloopJohnB: it’s like the yellow submarine or Ob La Di Of this album which is totally okay

it's got that odd, indescribable "this doesn't feel like a real song" sensation going for me, but that might be a lot of childhood plays--it usually is lol. but it's well done. it's also something about the very circular structure
