How? My Chem and top have basically the same fan base, social message, and drip with similar levels of pretension.

As true as that is, this album, blurryface, is technically their black parade. It's their third studio album, and it's a concept album with a black aesthetic. Sounds a lot like black parade to me. The point I'm tryna make is top are patterning themselves after MCR

Black parade is still a far better record.

Ok for a real answer their sounds are absolutely different and in no way resemble each other. One of the main things that differentiate bands. Just because 21P are the scene kid choice for the 2010s doesn't mean they're just like MCR through association.

Also Black Parade is sonically different from this record and is also far better, just because they're "black" aesthetic albums (and let's not kid ourselves this album barely can be consistent with it's narrative) doesn't make them the same. It's such an asinine comparison to make.

You're focusing on only the musical aspects of it and that was what I was trying to avoid because, like you said, they're musically and sonically different ballparks. Hell, they're not even the same game.

Sonically, very different,

Everything else is similar. Similar career structures, similar fan bases, hell, they be even got a member with red hair.

But yeah. Now that I think about it. You're right, all I really said was that they're the scene kid choice for the '10's.

Nah I've never been able to figure that out until now. It's not like the site makes it easy tho. I just assumed it was because my profile pic was the wrong size or whatever

The Black Parade utilized guitar solos and high budget music videos to convey the album's loose narrative of a soldier coming home from war and finding out he is dyong of cancer. This is a pseudo concept album that forgets what the story is after the first few songs before sloppily tying everything together in the end
