really cool to see where each song came from - Birds of Prey probably has the best backstory but I really liked Stranger Ways' and Velvet Covered Brick's explanations as well

stranger ways hits really close to me a couple years ago tho. i adore the lyrics (like the actual words, meaning notwithstanding) so it's nice to hear that it's got a powerful meaning too. that second verse is pretty incredible: "would you take a chance/ on a make believe dance"
also yeah birds of prey and velvet covered brick are cool too. it's pretty awesome that all the lyrics on the album are pretty much great. also:
"Even some of the guys wish it wasn’t on the record; for me its one of my favorites. It reminds me of the ‘pop’ songs we used to write."
said it better than i could, on why i love losing it all so much. besides his love for punk (dissenter) i seem to agree with stephen a lot on his attitudes toward songs

i wish i dug dissenter. not a huge fan of it, and i also think it has the weakest lyrics. like idk what it's even about.
