Admittedly, back when I lived and breathed Radiohead I loved this but as the years have passed this has been the one that I’ve returned to the least - even back then I wasn’t huge on Scatterbrain though. At this point it may have been over five years since I last listened to this all the way through.

Scatterbrain is one of the best Radiohead songs, my 2nd favorite on here after There There.

I wouldn't call it one of their best but it's a great song agreed

I'mma do the track rating thing, just for the sake of it.
2+2=5 [4.5/5] (great dynamic rock track)
Sit Down. Stand Up. [4/5] (always found this a neat atmosphere track; THE RAINDROPS)
Sail to the Moon [3.5/5] (Pyramid Song-lite)
Backdrifts [3/5] (ok but not memorable)
Go to Sleep [3/5] (the acoustic riff is nice but the track never really worked for me that much)
Where I End and You Begin [4.5/5] (love that tasty bass groove)
We Suck Young Blood [2.5/5] (self-explanatory)
The Gloaming [2.5/5] (probably the weakest electronic experiment they've done)
There There (The Boney King of Nowhere) [4.5/5] (another great rock track, love the drums and the buildup to that solo)
I Will [5/5] (possibly the most underrated track in their discog imo, such a creepy atmosphere and the layering of Thom's voice is chill-inducing)
A Punchup at a Wedding [2.5/5] (used to like this one if only for the bassline but now the thought of it leaves me totally flat)
Myxomatosis [3/5] (never cared for this one really but it's fine enough)
Scatterbrain [3.5/5] (yeah this is pretty pretty but doesn't leave a huge impression on me)
A Wolf at the Door [5/5] (say what you will but Radiohead know how to close an album and this is yet another classic closer, probably the most manic Thom's ever sounded on record and the lyrics are wonderful surrealist nonsense)
Sampled most of the tracks again while doing this but as I said I haven't listened to the album all the way through in a long time. The result is that this is definitely the least consistent Radiohead album (even counting Pablo Honey since that one's consistently mediocre).

Album Rating: 3.0
Accurate except I don’t rate ‘I Will’ quite as highly, ‘Where I End’ I don’t rate at all highly and ‘Myxamatosis’, ‘Young Blood’ and ‘Punch up’ are all hovering around 1-2/5 ratings - some of their all time worst
|
| |
mostly agreed except i don't like where i end or i will. and a punch-up is deserving of a 4-ish

Punch up is pretty annoying imo

Punchup is nice, I never saw a problem with it other than being nearly twice as long as it should be.
Scatterbrain wouldn't make my top 5 Radiohead songs or anything but it has really grown on me in recent years and I find it to be underrated.
Ranking some of these songs would be difficult b/c many of them are so strange, like The Gloaming does nothing for me most of the time. In the right mood tho, it really nails a creepy atmosphere and becomes enjoyable.
There There, Sail to the Moon, Scatterbrain, 2+2, and A Wolf at the Door are top 5 on here imo

"The Gloaming, Backdrifts and Where I End... are great tunes. Listen again "
+2
Honestly as a collection of songs I love most of it.
The Gloaming is actually a really great track. Nowadays I actually think it would have been a killer opening song(maybe not as appropriate as 2+2=5 though).
