the only thing I found inaccessible about this record was the second half of the record
yeah well if half of the album is "inaccessible", then it's less accessible than suburbia. I'm hoping this will grow on me, it's a really low 4 right now.

Listen to Teenage Parents and you're set.

It's hardly that those songs are inaccessible, but more that the fact that those songs seem really similar when you first listen to the record, and them being bunched pretty much back-to-back is a little offputting. It takes some listening to assign some sort of differentiating merit to each of those tracks.
I find that the songwriting here is a little bit less complicated then on Suburbia, so this ends up slightly more accessible.

I think that the best songs on this record (There, There, Screen Door, Devil in my Bloodstream and Funeral) are the best songs of their career, but Suburbia is more consistent on the whole because this has weak tracks too, unlike Suburbia.

Yeah I noticed that Spec, suppose it's just a topic Soupy likes writing about.

Did they volunteer for it or something?
And we're staring at the frozen ground in Goodwill suits,
Silent as the pastor reads the eulogy.
Well I wanted to see just a little bit of everything.

Is brand loyalty even possible for a thrift shop?

Oh wait. Goodwill suits because they went to a funeral and bought cheap suits from Goodwill.
Never mind.
I thought of it like a Goodwill uniform haha.

I never really knew what that line meant, I was thinking of the goodwill lines from Teenage Parents and I've Given You All, although there's probably more.

Ha ha, a hip pop punk band...
tracks 7-10 are like the same pop-punk song over and over
Nah, when you get down to it, they all offer something worthwhile.

Not really, they all bring different things to the table. Like dimsim said.

I want to like this so much more than I do, it just hasn't grabbed me like the rest of their library. Need to keep listening, Surburbia didn't do it for me at first either and now I really enjoy it.
