my favourite tracks of his are equally distributed across his first LP and his EPs
that being said my first and foremost favourite is on his first LP... and second favourite is on one of his EPs...
so i can't really say i prefer one side over the other necessarily but i do prefer pretty much all of his other stuff over this (still awesome tho) so i'd rather hear a new ep than an lp if this is an indicator of how the next lp will sound

its just too streamlined honestly, its more consistent than anything he's done before but the sacrifice in that is that nothing sticks out to the same degree as the highlights of his last LP and his EPs. this is a good album as a whole, really put together well, very fluent, but there are no highs and no lows, just consistent solid tunes and that comes with it not having anything that reaches the awe inspiring height of tracks like I Mind for me

i agree and disagree haha it's his most consistent yeah but a lot of my favorite tracks by him are on here (voyeur, retrogagf) idk it is kinda streamlined but its not that huge of a problem for me

being streamlined isnt the problem itself for me just like i said its so dynamic that i cant pick out favs and with james blake its his 'bangers' (so to speak) that really make me love him. there are so many tracks of his that ive had to just play on repeat for months but this one there isnt anything like that for me
