Mark Zuckerberg must never be allowed to grow as powerful as Elon Tesla.

I will say, if TAITA never came out, and Thrice released this record freshly in 2023, we'd be losing our shit.

I'll try listening with that almost impossible to achieve perspective lol

I’m low key excited about listening to the re-release. Little Carter, Hull and Holy Fawn features are such a neat treat
|
| |
I wish the Hull feature had been more than it was

Don’t put any expectations on those guest features lol

The guitars sound unreal. The cleans are majestic, especially on the title track.

New Paper Tigers version is the biggest improvement imo.

Yeah the Andy Hull feature was disappointing, could barely notice his input on it sadly. The thought of Andy Hull on a track like this is pretty wild though lol

Revisited is a blast, though will not surpass the OG for me. Agree with a lot of you that many songs on the re-record profit but some suffer pretty obviously

The Andy Hull feature was just a nice dash. Made me smile hearing him repeat the lines!

think about half of it's better and half of it's worse but the mixing is so far improved it's like hearing a new album

Hearing middle aged Dustin sing Melting Point of Wax is pretty funny
|
| |
ngl i'm far from convinced whether better mixing has actually made this a better album at all
Hoods On Peregrine and Melting Point were the two i always felt were most stifled on there though - defs nice to hear them breathe at last

I could never listen to Illusion or Artist because of Dustin’s voice so hearing these songs with his matured voice is like getting a new album for me. I enjoy it. Nice to hear Teppei play outside of some of the patterns he’s fallen into over the years.
It feels very clear listening to this that if I was a fan of the original I would have a hard time with this though - there was no need to play this album with the same realm of low gain tones they’ve been using since Beggars. Its also impossible to recapture youthful energy and earnestness which I’m assuming were a big part of what people liked about those albums.
From the band’s POV I can see why they wanted to do this. This material fits into their newer sound better than I would have expected, whereas an album like Illusion wouldn’t have translated. It gives them a chance to show how their progression is more of a natural progression than it might seem at first
