Yellow Belly has been stuck in my head all day. Promises is f'n amazing. Blinded rules too. Fuck, this whole album just "clicked" for me, weird, I liked it when I first gave it a spin, but now I'm listening to it again and I'm a bit blown away. Will have to upgrade my rating.

I'm really enjoying this album. I actually prefer their sound more after The Artist In The Ambulance. I still loved their earlier albums, which really struck a chord for me at that time in my life, but I feel as if their sound from Vheissu and on have pretty much matured with me. I can't name a Thrice album I didn't love, but everything after Vheissu I really do love. They always bring something new and refreshing, further pushing their sound into a slightly more focused direction that really comes across in their music. Maybe it's me just getting older or something, but I just think Thrice of the later years are at their absolute best. Major/Minor is a brilliant record.

Yeah, they were really locked in gear and playing insanely well. Dustin sounded tremendous. Also, it was interesting to hear the first two tracks from Major/Minor and Beggars interspersed. I actually created a playlist last night when I got home from the show, alternating songs from each record until I reached "Blur" and "Disarmed." Some of the ways the songs interact are really cool and interesting, but not nearly as flowing and natural as the Radiohead OK Computer/In Rainbows "01 and 10" mix.

Hey Patrick
"Another song I wanted to mention is “Call It In the Air.” I saw online where you said it was inspired by No Country for Old Men and I couldn’t tell if you were joking or being serious. Is that actually true?
Yeah, I think some of the stuff definitely is inspired by the gas station scene. I don’t think that was the genesis of the song. I don’t know. It could have been [laughs]."
From an interview with Dustin that's currently up on absolute punk.
You were totally right

I like to think that there is justice in the world, but then I realize that people still like Thrice.

Holy shit! Hahahaha, thanks for finding that Felix! I'm going to go check it out right now. I knew it, that sneaky little punk. He's such a nice, grounded, cool guy. I love this band so much. It was amazing see them last night. "Call It In The Air" was particularly inspired.
PS - I called heads, everone. Turns out heads gets you a set like the one I printed above. Go with heads.

Do they ask you at the show to yell heads or tails? Or what?
