Since there is only one Sun, then a thousand Suns would be like a lot.

I've been digging it lately. Really didn't like it when it first came out, but the guitarist's cleans are really good.

The Sun is a star, but not all stars are the Sun. Same with the Moon; there is only one Moon. All others are referred to as satellites.

My God, I never post anything and yet I feel I have to now.

There's some ridiculous double standard with Linkin Park.

We all know, had Linkin Park created another Nu-Metal album, we'd all be criticizing them for remaking the same shit.

"Nu-Metal isn't popular anymore, so Linkin Park changed their album direction to appeal to the masses." First, though it's debatable LP was really "nu-metal," whatever genre that may have been, LP WAS it. Sure some bands (Staind, Papa Roach, etc.) came and left, but it was LP that made it popular. It was LP changing the style that made it "unpopular" and I assume there's no shortage of fans that wishes LP stuck with their nu-metal roots.

But instead, here's a band that goes something more experimental. The MTV guy wasn't crazy to compare ATS with Kid A. I'm not comparing the qualities of the album, but the fact that an established, popular, and successful band tried something more experimental--- this the two albums share in common, no?

Yet this album has received significantly more criticism, and I can only hope the same behavior regarding Kid A follows ATS (immediate criticism gives way to more acceptance).

Face it, an experimental LP threatens this elitist group who think only the best bands can do "experimental stuff" and so you criticize it immediately.

Here are people who say the lyrics are awful, referring to possibly the worst lyrics I've ever heard (in Robot Boy). There's a term for this: hasty generalization. It's a logical fallacy. The rest of the lyrics are surprisingly good, yet no one aside from a few people seem willing to give them this credit. I would say this somewhat symbolizes attitudes towards ATS.

And note, I didn't refer to the actual music. Because it's irrelevant. You switch this with any critically acclaimed and experimental album and it still gets a 2.5, just because it's Linkin Park.

I don't think the album is that great, to be fair. But as far as experimental albums go, most of them aren't. People looking to be high-class critics just go along with the fads in order to feel superior just tend to assume they're good for the beginning and highlight its strengths and minimize the weaknesses, thus justifying their presumption.
