Still amazing 26yrs after I first heard it.

This is still more provocative, poignant and more piercing than 99% of 'today's standards'

"Public Image is a much challenging and genuine project than this. "

Pil is great, but I can't agree with the pompousness.. when comparing the two.. it's silly.

Malcolm McLaren knew what he had found and played an important role in putting it together; you can call that manufactured, but he didn't control the Pistols (he tried to) found the right pieces and marketed them aka manager.

The songwriting came from the band

Finally. I've waited 4 bastard years on this brat fest to hear some truth about this album/band. Nice one jeff!!

On the Pil thing it was Rise which first intoroduced me to Lydon in the mid 80s. Captivating. It's still one of my all time fave songs. 'Anger is an energy'

Filth and the Fury has some brilliant quotes by Rotten. This particular gen has always stood out to me:

I don’t rate stuff based on ‘iconic status’... shitty manufactured ‘punk’ album, all style & no substance.
