A lot of the new screamo outfits have been extremely corny, but Defeater's lyrics are so well crafted and honestly delivered that the emotion feels completely genuine. Definitely one of my favorite new HC albums.

they play blessed burden, cowardice, a wound and scar, red white and blues, the bite and sting, dear

father, empty glass, warm blood rush. cowardice is the closer. they'll probably open with warm blood

rush.



i liked it better before edsn when they played prophet in plain clothes and everything went quiet :/

from what I've seen on youtube the vocalist is way worse live, WAY worse

i think they're totally solid live, i've just seen their set one too many times. i never had a complaint with derek's vocals or the band's performance
