I think you should relisten to Colors. Don't convince yourself that their really is much of a difference.

ok this is why i feel colors is only a 4 and this is a 5.

I must of listened to colors at least a hundred times back to front, i used to be obsessed with the album. As an album and especially as one song 60 + min song i just dont think it works. Alot of the transfers are awkwardly done and just sound extremely forced, the one that especially that comes to mind is prequel to viridian where it just seems so out of place. Anyone who bitches about Tommy's vocals obvious have heard Colors because that album has his weakest vocal performance to date. Just doesnt match the power of alaska or variety of TSC, or even this. His vocals are tolerable but arent great on that album (could be down to production or his vocals at that time 2 years ago i don't know). Also with Colors it just seems like you have to go through a load of shit to get to the amazing parts. Ok i realise someone is gonna come back and say 'its exactly the same here!'. I just find the heavier parts way more interesting in this than colors which again i feel has the worst metal written parts to date. And over time ive found the quirky parts and the clean vocals to become a bit annoying. Its just way more natural and coherent here, transistions arent forced, cleans arent processed, tommy's harsh vocals are better and the songs feel like they are written from beginning to end again not like sun of nothing where u have to go through riff after riff till u get to the best clean section of the album.

Now ive explained myself, ill shut up lol xD

Idk this album is a bit of a grower. I love the transition between Mirrors and Obfuscation.

I love Disease, Injury, Madness. It feels like Backwards Marathon Pt. 2.
