Comparing to Muse past works this album is pretty mediocre to say the least. United States of Eurasia saves this nonetheless

As much as I hate this album, I do love USoE. Also, the ambiance and vocals they added to the chopin piece really add well to it.

Muse have now ousted Chopin as having the most potent set of nocturnes.

It still pains me how much Muse messed up with this album.

From the first time I played this, I was scoffing at how blatantly whore-ish and utterly campy it is. It literally made me sick.

I tried listening to it a few more times, just in case I was missing something, but I wasn't. This album blows and is nothing but an utter disappointment.

Album gets too much shit but it is their weakest still.

100% agree with you. Their previous album crossed over some white lines but did so without hurting them. This one went straight into oncoming traffic. Still I give them credit for trying.

Bloc: "personally, i don't believe in that "growing" nonsense about music. one either likes it on the first listen or doesn't. obviously with time and overplaying, it may "grow off" you but that do"

Do you really believe that? Or you just never listened to an album that you didn't like at first more than 1 time?

What douchebag is saying is just common sense. A (normal) human can't process a song completely at the first time he listens to it if it is too complex.... My favourite album (AMOLAD - Iron Maiden) started to be my favourite at my 4th listen.

However complexity is not the Muse case. This album is weak IMO

Definitely their worst album.

But I like that they're trying different sounds.

But yeah I do agree...for some reason I did get tired of hearing Matt's voice.

I love the album, though felt as if it was missing something. Can't really say what though.

I only agree with some of this.

Sure some of the songs on here are repetative and boring, but the music is usually amazing.

You didn't even mention Undisclosed Desires, which is by far my favorite on the album. With its techno-ish music and beat, and great harmonies, this song kicks ass. Some good songs, worst album though..

“Uprising”, “Resistance”, “Undisclosed Desires”, “Unnatural Selection”, and “MK Ultra”

The only good songs. The rest of the album just blows. This was the first album by Muse I heard and they left a pretty crappy first impression. I’ll listen to some of their older albums, mostly because this girl I’m considering is obsessed in them, but these guys have A LOT to make up for. Seriously.
