The heavier cuts on this are straight-up some of the band's best material.

I’ve said it before but if you take the best songs here and from Hybrid Theory and mash em together then it’s legit a 5. I’m shocked at how well some of these songs have aged.

Tbh I think this might overall be a better record than Hybrid Theory… I think Faint is their best track ever point blank period, and I think that there’s far less cheesy moments here. Of course the whole rap rock shtick is played out but imo In The End has aged fucking horribly and I really don’t care for One Step Closer.

I really never thought I’d dig this more but listening to them back to back… yeah I think this is the better record overall.

Always was better. I remember when I first heard it I thought it was shit cause it wasn't what I wanted. Then I loved it. And now I find it way better I almost never revisit HT tbh

I remember approaching Meteora with all this "better than HT" talk in mind and it turned out disappointing. Nothing bad per se here, but as a whole, it sounds like a poorer version of the previous album. The overall pacing, melodic choices, compositions, it's just weaker.

To me Hybrid Theory has more overall amazing songs (Crawling, With You, By Myself, Papercut, Pushing Me Away…” but I think this works more as a package. The sequencing is a little weird tho, Nobody’s Listening and From the Inside are fine songs but so close to the end of the album, idk I just would have put some stronger songs there, and Session just feels like a weaker Cure For The Itch. After Breaking the Habit I kinda just found myself waiting for Numb.

So really, my least favorite stretch of the record is right at the end and to me that knocks it down a couple of notches.

They had to keep (6) Easier To Run & (10) From The Inside separated a distance apart, probably my two favorites but they have a similar vibe. The only change I can conceive is maybe swaping spots with (10) & (12) Session. I don’t know though, I’ve listened to this album well over a thousand times so it is now programmed in my head the way it is.

I would change nothing 😂 both are mostly flawless to me

I actually prefer Session to Cure. Parts of Cure sound goofy to me but when it settles around a minute in, it is 🔥

Generally I think I would argue something like, hybrid theory is more consistent while Meteora has higher highs. But I also could see an argument for the exact opposite lol. I just find that the songs of theirs I like the most all seem to fall on Meteora

Also if there's one song from both albums that should be dumped it's Nobody's Listening
