Genuinely, the PC-police movement will end up gaining such momentum and success that they become a twisted version of what they set-out to destroy. Such is the way of power and influence.

I'd miss just some of his music videos with those unreleased tracks + and the nostalgic ones talking about how he recorded Burzum and such.

And the ones where he argued against vaccines from a social darwinism perspective.

Well, he can't use the autism argument since he believes autism to be a true european feature.

Not really cool though, the attitude that it requires vaccination or eradicating is abhorrent. I've seen videos online of an American company claiming to help families of autistic children and it actually vilifies autism, treating it like a demonic entity that's somehow possessed the child. Autistic people don't need curing.

autism isn't considered cognitive impairment?

Cognitive difference, sure. Depends how you define impairment, as there are positive aspects of autism, actually bringing about some desirable advantages. Regardless, I think it's a very dangerous attitude... if actually possible it presumably involves changing someone's neurology and therefore their personality as well. Autism isn't the same as physical disability and shouldn't be treated as such. Autism is very much a part of how the individual is as a person, the two are intertwined and cannot simply be 'removed' at will.

Personally I think autism should be embraced and the world should often adapt around autistic people where possible, rather than expecting them to magically be like neuro-typicals or 'normal' (normal is offensive btw), we're all different and potentially destroying the essence of what someone the person they are doesn't seem like the correct approach.

word up. i don't know the first thing about autism, but assumed low-function autism leads to a lessened quality of life and describing possible treatment as offensive seems a little hot. but if even low-function autism isn't impairment or doesn't cause suffering then i guess i see how pushing treatment options could be insulting. in either case vilifying it is shitty

Of course low-function autism can lead to a lessened quality of life, depends on how that person feels in themselves I guess (which in more extreme cases may be difficult to gauge). I should've perhaps clarified my meaning. The things I have read that want to eliminate it completely are wrong, also it's very common to have 'extreme' reactions in autistic people that can be managed with appropriate changes to their environment, it's their surroundings disabling them and isn't necessarily the fault of the autism. I guess it's that the world wasn't built for autistic people, yet it can be managed in a huge number of cases. That doesn't mean it's easy, just that preaching to parents that you can eradicate autism just because it may be difficult getting your kid to behave/concentrate like a 'regular' kid isn't the way forward.

Sorry, I've got a ton of shit I could write about this, so it probably just reads like a haphazard stream of consciousness.

"eradicate" is a way too strong word here. A right treatment is sometimes necessary, because they can hurt others or themselfs. My dad worked in a school for autistic children, back in the days.
