Meshuggah plays the best music to headbang to. No matter when or how often I listen to them I just get really into it. Seeing them live was incredible.

I can understand why some people don't like them, especially this album

I can see why people would see it's boring and sounds too monotonous (even though Fred can solo like a madman), but the beauty is in the timing. The stuff these guys write is so complex, I can only imagine performing it live. Everything seems all over the place but it always falls back into place nicely.

It is complex, but they've been playing this stuff for years that they can write this in their sleep and play it near flawlessly live.

Their music might sound messy but everything is in place; the riffs crush and evolve in variety, the drums are really impressive, the bass (especially here) does its job well, and Kidman delivers.

Worth noting that this has 666 ratings right now. That means I can't rate it myself, lest I ruin the awesome-ness.

Allthough this is probably one of the least accesible albums i know of.. its easy to see why some people discard this so easily

lyrics seem to relate to DMT experiences, which I'd believe because they have a song called "ayahuasca experience"

The first half is a bit eh, but from In Death--Is Death onward it completely destroys. The breakdown in Dehumanization is incredible.

"if this is heavy, then earth is the biggest planet"

u dumb? this is heavy as shit. One of the only bands that I consider to be heavier than Meshuggah is Converge.
