'your '10s list is very coherent at least, that top 25 fits together nicely'
Yeah, that list is taking shape alright considering we still have two more years of music to go, the '10s list is already as strong as the '00s one. Maybe stronger.

Lucid if you look through the Sunhouse thread you’ll find it’s mostly a small group of us gushing over it repeatedly interspersed with a fair bit of memery from some other users. Glad you dig it though even if it’s not your thing, half expected you to outright call it garbage.

That's what it seems like, and there're quite a few from your rateyourmusic list that are close for me like Funeral, Sigur Ros, and Godspeed.

I'll do my top 10 of the 10s because it's easy as I have exactly 10 5/5 albums from the 10s.
1. The National - High Violet
2. Jason Isbell - Southeastern
3. The Decemberists - The King Is Dead
4. Phosphorescent - Muchacho
5. The National - Trouble Will Find Me
6. Father John Misty - I Love You, Honeybear
7. James McMurtry - Complicated Game
8. The War on Drugs - Lost in the Dream
9. Sturgill Simpson - A Sailor's Guide to Earth
10. The National - Sleep Well Beast
Definitely a more personal list than my ones for the 90s and 00s would be, due to the fact that I came of age as a music listener during the 10s.

My 90s list has gone through a lot of changes. I bet more conventional picks like Dirt by Alice in Chains, Rust in Peace by Megadeth, Lonesome Crowded West, and In the Aeroplane over the Sea would've made my list when I was in middle or high school.

10s is hard. I’ll say.
National - High Violet.
Nick Cave - Skeleton Tree
King Creosote - From Scotland With Love
Drive By Truckers - American Band
Pantha Du Prince - Black Noise
Aimee Mann - Mental Illness
Bill Wells and Aidan Moffat - Everything’s Getting Older
David Bowie - Blackstar
Radiohead - Moon Shaped Pool
Jason Isbell - Southeastern
That’s completely off the cuff, even typing it out I currently prefer Southeastern to High Violet but fuck it. There’s deffo some I’ve forgotten as well that’ll I kick myself when I remember.

That list is a beaut zak, love the DBTs and of course Isbell shout even though I don't rank American Band that high myself. DBTs Decoration Day is top ten of the 00s though for sure.

That Isbell album has done the rounds at work Boney dude, the people I’ve shown it to all love it and rightfully so.

Southeastern is the sort of album where I would be genuinely afraid of anybody who's not at least a little affected by it because if you don't feel something while listening to it you're likely a sociopath.
