Agreed on the pacing of 10,000 Days being a bit of a mess. It has some of my favorite highlights like Vicarious, Jambi, The Pot, Wings, but something about how it's arranged makes the whole feel like the pacing is way off

my 10k days synopsis:
i think vicarious is perfect and one of their best songs
jambi has never really done it for me. it coulda been a solid short song cause the riffs unique but cmon that talk box solo is so lame
the t/t on 10k days builds so much momentum, then they just like... have a early morning hippie fest drum pow pow for like 3 fucking minutes, then bring back the intensity.
the pot is a banger but also seems to be too long. it coulda been shorter. common theme here. nothing really stands out as the useless part though it just doesnt provide enough to be that long
rosetta stoned is wayyy too long. it rocks hard but like its hugely bloated. biggest offense is the entire useless fucking section after the second chorus. shoulda just ended after shit the bed. when all the songs on this album are pushed to be so long, a massive song on top of it doesnt feel special it just feels like you got to the last flight of stairs in a skyrise and realize its 7 times as long as what you just climbed
intension would be fine if there werent so many useless interludes already. its a good song
right in two's middle section is so boring and drawn out. i get it, cuts the song right in two. not worth it.

1. Vicarious
2. Jambi
3. The Pot
4. Lipan Conjuring
5. Lost Keys
6. Rosetta Stoned
7. Intension
8. Right in Two
9. Wings for Marie 1
10. Wings for Marie 2
And then scrap Viginti Tres altogether because the track is completely pointless

i agree ending with right and two is really really odd. i honestly cant really see the hype of that song. that one breakdown thing at the end is cool and the intro riff is nice but its really boring to me otherwise and lyrically awful

Considering the importance of the Wings for Marie suite in Tool's catalog - as well as Maynard's life - I don't see it going anywhere else on the tracklist except for the end as a grand finish. Seems like a perfect climax to such a reflective album
