Lines is superb, yeah. Production here is out of this world. And Axe and Mendez have amazing vibes here.

It's not a question of similarities, just a point of interest to be considered

Ah gotcha. It sounded wrong already.

Revisiting this is what made me 5.0 it. Didn't like it upon release, clicked like crazy a few years later and now it's one of my all time faves.

This wasn't as outright boomer as their later prog stuff.

I remember this site was up in arms about Heritage when it first came out.

I was pretty startled by the shift in direction with this album but after a couple listens it sunk in beautifully. Wish I could say the same for what came after.

Sorceress was such disappointing album. Production was muddy and the songwriting was weak.

Same here. This stands proudly among their best work, the last three don't.

PC did have a couple of bangers including Eternal Rains, just overall it left me really cold.

Agreed. Eternal Rains is one of their best tracks since Ghost Reveries for me, River is lovely too.

I was hoping it would be as good as this but was salty it wasn't.
I'm just not sure how long they can keep up this sound for. The whole idea was to set themselves fre from their older material which is understandable but now they are stuck in this boomer 70's sound with no end in sight

Based on recent Mikael interviews it seems like he's still completely over metal, so RIP band I guess?

Yeah that's really a pity. This included some delicious jazz influences and is truly adventurous, they ditched those elements on subsequent records which makes me very sad. Cauda does feel a bit more creative again though, with all the theatrical and sunny sounds, but they can take it even further imo.

Believe or not wutang they were.
What made this so good was those jazz freak outs and the actual vintage sounding production.

Moon Above Sun Below, Voice of Treason, and Faith in Others are great too.
