>complains about black metal being basic
>overlooks the importance of minimalism in early acclaimed bm
trololololololol. Beginning sounds pretty cool, actually. Song's not amazing but it's the right idea. Also yeah there's only a month until it drops--prob less until it leaks/streams; let's get this trending all through September. #hypetrain #bermudahoneymoon

cmon deathschool it would never make a shitstorm. Half of deafheaven fans probably moved on by now to the next trend. I bet most of them will pretend like they never liked them within 2 years at the most.

confusing minimalism as the act of keeping it as simple and use the least possible, with minimalism as the music genre, people think this conversation will go anywhere or

It obviously won't go anywhere. Zaruyache just spouted some random shit that had no relevance to the conversation as a diversion, after using meme arrows and trololololol. I didn't even mean basic as in technically speaking I meant it as in black metal that didn't stand out.

I mean your argument was complete shit from the start but yea

Artists like Paysage d'hiver or filosofem-era burzum are what I'd consider minimalists in this genre, but I'd hardly extend the label to all of black metal, not all bands strive for absolute minimalism.

Under a Funeral Moon is a classic and wrote the book on bm minimalism--and has had a very large impact on the genre, so I don't really think "this riff is too simple" constitutes a good argument when discussing a genre that's pretty heavily rooted in bands who played same riff over and over for five minutes. That especially doesn't work when discussing deafheaven, who have made a noticeable move toward that kvlt bm style.

early black metal isn't very minimalistic but there's lots of second wave and modern day bm that incorporates minimalist elements
this is garbage but for other reasons
