Giving this another full spin at work this afternoon, haven't listened to much Neurosis lately but I am going to change that. When the intro to Through Silver comes back in as the outro its just the best thing they could've done. What a way to wrap up such a fantastic song

probably about that time I try, yet again, to get into this. probs on take 14 now, scheduled annually, given that I feel in love with Isis in 2010.

whats the verdict this time

I had this as a 3 a couple years ago because it was too "abrasive and raw" compared to their later releases. I'm struggling to get into anything prior to this as well for the same reasons but this was just checks all the right boxes when listened to on headphones for its entirety.

Post metal in general should be enjoyed with headphones. There are lots of layers and atmospheric sounds along the whole frequency spectrum and unless you have a very good stereo speaker set-up you're gonna miss a lot in comparison with other types of music

Fall of Efrafa was another band I couldn't get into at first and then I kept revisiting Inle every few months and its just such a perfect record from start to finish.

Inle is my least-favorite of the three. I just...so many duh-duh-duh-duh-duh-duh-duh-duh riffs. Please, do something else, just for a moment. It's hard to enjoy without a lyrics sheet.
