No I dont think it is...its razor sharp agreed but far from the heaviest...something there puts me off though...you guys should jam more ATF and WP, or just try and be born in early 80's, if you could lool

Man ATF is some heavy shit.

I heard SNW and it doesn't come close to it.

I don't know if anything can touch ATF in terms of pure heaviness.

@DDD: The riffs in Rats?? Come on. It's got that sort of Glassjaw vibe/groove to it in the verses. I love those big weird chord stabs. Almost gives me Discordance Axis vibes too, though probably not intentionally at all. I still think White Pony is their best record, mind you. And I think I like this more than SNW, I just think Rats is a fucking great song. And I feel SNW is a bit better than AtF.

As I remember it, there are a few Nu Metalisms on AtF that don't age as well to me. Still an excellent record though. I'll have to listen to both again to have a good opinion though. It's been a while.

Rats is one of their best heavy tracks man. I’d rather them be off-kilter and rhythmically interesting than just go DUNUNUN DUNUNUN DUNUNUN on the bottom string

I love Around the Fur too, it’s just a bit more one-dimensional. Don’t think they have any albums I straight up dislike

"I love Around the Fur too, it’s just a bit more one-dimensional."

Most one dimensional but also probably the most consistent and most well executed album. WP, S/T, SNW, really every proceeding album is far more varied and "ambitious", but they also all have lows that aren't present on ATF. Not to mention it still has career standouts like Summer, BQAD, the t/t...
