sputnik has less of those "ancient Brit unleashed on the internet"-type reviews where there's paragraphs of crap judgmental banter that sound like they were penned by a retired cop
RYM's just for searching [2]
|
| |
the worst reviews on rym are just lists of bands that exist and have existed, rounded off with vague assessments of how good the album isn't based on how many bands it has been prefaced with
but the floundering opinion shart variety is also bad
although some combine both

>the worst reviews on rym are just lists of bands that exist and have existed
mine feel like this sometimes

I think we've just found a way of ejecting zak from our domain, someone shoutbox him cimnele's comment.
|
| |
think again parkboi
most recent specific example i found was
every1 on RYM feels the same about Raveonettes. we just know too much about the influences on the group. if, for example, we had only heard Lady GaGa and Justice all day...well then we'd prob me massive fans. the issue is that not only do we know Jesus and Mary Chain, Velvet Underground etc we also know Everly Brothers and all the other jazz that make up a new group trying to do the shoegaze twist you find with Danish duo Raveonettes. give them a shot. i mean...they are kind of fun. and people like Jenny Lewis and she's pretty much a total rip off too.
...i mean, at that point plz reconsider what benefit unlimited online music access actually adds to your existence jfc

idk i love to compare metal band 2847075375743508 to at least a dozen other metal bands :/
|
| |
nothing wrong with a cogent comparison
just make sure ur head's out of the assdoor of the circuitous metal universe of bands that 3 people secretly know did it first or you will end up like casavir and nothing post-2010 will ever bring you joy because joy does not belong in obscure historymusic bookage
|
| |
idk cas has given me better recs than 99% of metal ppl :^)
|
| |
idk if 99% of metal ppl are the demographic i'd be asking for recs m'boi

I feel attacked, unless of course I've (unlikely) landed in that small percentage of "cool" people.

'thats not a metal band'
He's got you there Johnny boi. I think you just need to have a damn good sieve when conversing with / taking recs from metalers, I mean honest question... would you consider me in this category?
|
| |
idk in all seriousness its just divergence in priorities / what ppl are looking for etc... im glad a lot of people can dig stuff that i cant etc
>you just need to have a damn good sieve when conversing with / taking recs from metalers
true for any fandom and any bias really

That is also v true. For someone who's maybe a tad sensitive and only likes specific metallic flavours (like Johnny), you just need to know where to look. That's the same for any genre though and will depend on the individual.
