>no that=this

But the chronology is all wrong here. Are you saying MYAH were inspired by future echoes from BP?

Cus I wouldn't argue.

After realising Opeth named MAYH after a Comus lyric, I also came across this… https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blackwater_Park_(band)

Be honest guys, who knew this album was named after a 70s prog band? I certainly didn’t.

You just now figured that out? 😁

(Not being condescending or anything. I just remembered reading that on Wikipedia years ago)

Tectactoe, I know music is subjective and all but that comment makes you seem like a silly goose. I'm not a "fan boy" or anything but this band has many highlights over their long careers in metal. Give them another try

It was admittedly a flippant comment but idk this is just the precise ""type"" of metal I can only admire at arm's length but have never been able to latch onto completely. Same with Tool, I respect and acknowledge the talent but am otherwise ambivalent. Like LATERALUS, I find this (and similarly STILL LIFE) sorta....boring?

you can throw as much shade you like at opeth, and i am here for it, but don't you dare put them on a plane with lateralus
still life is kinda boring but also kinda good
all opeth albums from then onwards until that one that changed the formula are the same so abandon all hope and listen to wolves in the throne room and the angelic process i guess
