This is a great record. Reminds me a lot of Mastodon in places. Also have never heard such clear production on a Converge record I think, sounds awesome.

I really think this is Kurt’s best work yet production wise, also agree on Jacob’s vocals, lyrically he’s so on point here too.
Bloodmoon’s lyrics were so vague and honestly nondescript a lot of the time… I still really dig that record but it also just had me hoping they’d do something more with that lineup if they get it back together, there’s really only a few songs that showed their full potential imo

This is so fucking visceral
Low key the most angry this band has sounded prolly since Jane Doe

“ Bad Faith really might have the best riffs on the album”
Bro yes I was grinning ear to ear when I first heard that groove. Fuckin heavy shit
And yes on the production. Absolutely love how organic it sounds

Done lol. Totally deserved. Album is fantastic. Love the lyrical themes especially with the state of things. Some apocalyptic themes on this

Never been a big Converge fan but I like the more straightforward approach on this one

Maybe check out No Heroes too?
Aside from Grim Heart/Black Rose being the whole centerpiece I’d say it’s also pretty straightforward.

defo the most visceral stuff since Jane Doe, like AWLWLB and ATF were violent but this shit on a whole different level

The drums sound so good on this
And i must agree with wildcard that Make me Forget You is a top Converge song
Some of the sludgy parts sound like something NAILS wish theyd sound like

I do feel like the über-clean production makes this sound not so visceral. Not that I mind, but I do not think of this record as visceral or violent. I honestly think it sounds quite accessible due to the catchy, sludgy, Bloodmoon-like riffage.

Idk, sounds pretty violent to me at certain points.

Could see this being a 4.5 though, it sounded really great. But I would honestly need to do a discog run to really let their records sink in. I've heard some albums quite a few times but usually via shuffle, not as a full album experience.

Poison the Well rules. The FLHC council will not stand for this
