as someone who only recently heard it front to back, this is more than just about influence for me. I enjoyed it and 5'd it

Objectively, this is almost flawless. When you put it in context though, it becomes a classic imo.

master of reality comes pretty close too. Both are awesome albums but I feel like this is just a bit more consistent

I tened to listen to Master of Reality and Sabbath Bloody Sabbath more than this album. It's really hard to rank their first 6.

While the s/t is very influential, I dont find it as good as this or MOR. This and MOR are the best for me... but it is very very hard to pick yes

I feel like War Pigs and Hand of Doom were the most dynamic songs Sabbath ever wrote. Nothing else swings like those two.

@Whitie

Saw them last night. Shihad weren't that interesting as openers but Sabbath were beyond good. Geezer and Tony are in top form. Tommy gets a bit double-bass happy on the drums, and he doesn't have the swing Ward did, but he's still adequate. Ozzy is in surprisingly good shape, but can't belt out anything from Sabbath Bloody Sabbath or Sabotage so they just play those songs instrumental, unfortunately.

Also Ozzy is so obviously on the sauce and drugs again.

"Also Ozzy is so obviously on the sauce and drugs again."

Ozzy has been damaging his legacy for so many years now. From one of the top frontmen in heavy metal he has become a bit of a clown at least in my eyes but he still is and will always be Sabbath's voice. And this comes from a huge Sabbath and Ozzy fan. On the other hand, Iommi has become even more iconic.

Saw Sabbath last night. Iommi is a fucking god. Ozzy was actually much better than i thought he was going to be. Safe to say They blew me away.
