'The beginning of Atlantic sounds like Massive Attack, such a rad album'

While i did enjoy this, I hope we go back to more standard the Ocean and not more of this. I want more songs like Pleitoscene that use Loics full range

To me there's no indication that this is a full direction change rather than something that just worked out with the timing of the synth boi sending Robin some shit that he found fit really well with the theme of this era. I definitely expect the next one to be heavier on the whole at least, but with them having wrapped up such a massive conceptual cycle who knows where they'll go.

The Massive Attack vibes are all over this album. Dare I say they are... massive

Man I can't get over how good the breakdown past 6min mark of Atlantic is.

I can see not everyone enjoys this album as much as I do but it basically might have cementified the band as my personal GOAT. Venturing into a little more laid down and synth based territory while still maintaining their core sound was what I needed this year

the highly nuanced production on this is probably it's best quality, but as a whole it's rather dull

I partially agreed with Johny on some of his points about latest Periphery album, so the disagreement here is understandable

Spinning it today non-stop since I got up and the most questionable thing that stands out is this long loud synth note at the very end of Sea of Reeds. Like, the song is nice, chill and laid back and then once you think its over they had to add a single pointless synth note that reminds me of being 12 year old, playing around in FL studio or on a cheap synth keyboard and thinking there always has to be a strong note to accent the end of the track since it's so artsy and climatic lol

Spinned this >10 times and it was a solid 4. Not a big fan of lyrics in metal, but followed them through the latest listning. Damn, it complemented the music (or the other way around) brilliantly, though gut punching. May give Dodheimsgard some competition regarding aoty.

Yeah I saw World is a Beautiful Place open for TDH last year which felt way more appropriate, this'll be an interesting one.

Coming back to this album after a lil break is really nice, this is a nice one.

It would be really cool/funny to see them to just drop a metalcore ep/album without warning and say nothing about it. Do wonder what their next step will be
